We’re on a mission to share recipes and resources that help you cook, eat, and live better - and get a little closer to your food in the process.
Food that's grown, raised, fished, and farmed with planet and people in mind.
We turn those ingredients into classic, comforting, SIMPLE recipes, with a focus on techniques that make cooking easier (and more fun!) We break big ideas into step-by-step action items to help you bring your favorite people together for a great meal - whether it’s a special celebration or just a Tuesday night.
That means we talk a lot about where our food comes from, how to find sustainable ingredients, and which companies are doing amazing things to improve our food system.
And, hey - we love this stuff, but we don’t get preachy and we don’t pass judgment. We all start somewhere! Have a question? Check out our FAQs or contact us!
Our Manifesto.
Jessie Johnson founded Life As A Strawberry as a hobby food blog while she was working in the nonprofit sector between college and grad school (she did her Master's at Cornell - read more about her work with food security research here!)
Jessie is still the voice of our brand (she’s writing this paragraph right now! and talking in third person! hi! hello!) but today, Life As A Strawberry is a digital publishing company with a full-time team (plus a handful of amazing contractors and consultants!) who are passionate about helping you get great food on your table while you make a positive impact on our planet.
